Tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET on Showtime Deontay "The Bronze Bomber" Wilder will take on Bermane "B.Ware" Stiverne for the latter's WBC heavyweight title in Las Vegas, Nevada in a highly anticipated clash that can be live streamed by clicking this link.
Wilder will enter the ring as an undefeated fighter with a remarkable streak-32 knockouts in 32 fights. Wilder has never seen action past the fourth round; the catch is that he's never seen an opponent like Stiverne.
While Wilder has carried promotion of the with innumerable threats and boasts, Stiverne has quietly hinted that the challenger isn't quite aware of what he is getting himself into.
Stiverne's biggest victories are back-to-back wins over Chris Arreola, someone who won't be breaking into the boxing Hall of Fame, but a longtime contender nonetheless. He has claimed to have video of Wilder getting knocked out in sparring, and vowed to bring pain onto the mouthy upstart.
"He can talk trash, but that's all it is...trash," Stiverne said. "I'm pretty much boring when it comes to trash talk. I don't get involved with any of that. But when you come to the fights, I give you all of the excitement you expect to see."
Wilder made waves at the fight's final presser with big-time bragging though, exuding incredible confidence. His main concern was fans and writers shrugging off his upcoming win by retroactively talking down the champ.
"When I do the unexpected, I don't want you all to degrade this man, Stiverne. I don't want you to call him another bum or make excuses for my victory. Stick by your word. Let this be a test for me and watch me pass my test. I guarantee I will do it," Wilder said.
