Manny Pacquiao said his New Year's resolution for 2015 was to fight Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

Pacquiao Tells Twitter He Wants To Finally Fight Floyd in 2015

Boxing fans have been waiting upward of five years for this much-anticipated, never-scheduled bout. But according to a new report on Tuesday night, it might finally come to pass.

Yahoo! Sports broke the story that Pacquiao and his camp have given the greenlight to a May 2 fight, including the thumbs up on the purse split, drug testing, and more. Drug testing would be a major development on Pacquiao's part, as it proved a sticking point in negotiations in previous years.

Floyd Mayweather Has More Bugattis Than He Knows What To Do With

The May 2 fight would hypothetically go down at the MGM in Las Vegas, and would feature a 60/40 purse split, with Mayweather favored. Early estimates from Yahoo! put Mayweather's earnings from the potential match in the range of $120 million dollars.

As a skeptic and boxing fan who's been burned before by these two, this author isn't holding his breath until both boxers have crossed their t's and dotted their i's. Still, agreeing to these pre-match stipulations brings us to the closest we've ever come to finally seeing these two legends face off once and for all.
