What happened to South Africa?

After easily handling the West Indies national team throughout December in a series of multi-day test matches, the Proteas have dropped two straight T20I single-day matches to the Windies in a row. Both losses came by four wickets.

Smart minds acknowledged before the T20I series started that the Windies had a style of play more conducive to single-day match play, but the South African squad's bats have been surprisingly silenced. This does not look like the team that was contending to be mentioned as the world's number 1 squad just a month ago.

After today's match, up next between these squads is a lengthy ODI series. Can South Africa course correct its recent swoon?
