TNA Superstar Jeff Hardy has mesmerized crowds many times throughout his career by putting his body on the line, but he took it to a whole new level Friday night at a taping in the Manhattan Center in New York City.

5 Things To Watch On Monday Night RAW This Week and Rumors

Hardy, who has had plenty of death-defying leaps and awe-inspiring falls throughout his career, had a crazy incident in a Steel Cage Match at TNA's Lockdown taping.

Hardy climbed to the top of the steel cage during his match and was knocked off of it by his opponent. Falling from the cage is scary enough, but Hardy wasn't met with the padded mat below as he fell with a sickening thud on top of the steel steps outside of the ring.

Randy Savage Hall of Fame Announcement Rumored For RAW

There had been reports that the fall didn't go as planned and that Hardy was knocked out, however Wrestlingheadlines.com has refuted this.

Per the report, the fall went exactly as planned as TNA needed to write Hardy off of television for its upcoming U.K. tour due to his drug conviction in 2009 not allowing him to leave the U.S.

TNA planned on having him take the plunge in order to explain his absence for the upcoming set of Impact Wrestling tapings in the U.K.

In honor of Hardy's latest crazy bump, we here at Sports World News will take a look at five of the craziest falls in wrestling history.

5) Jeff Hardy Flies High: Sticking with Hardy, the daredevil orchestrated one of the most memorable spots during a Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match pitting him and brother Matt Hardy against The Dudley Boys and Edge and Christian in 2001 at WrestleMania X-7. A normal ladder wasn't good enough for Hardy as he set up a gigantic ladder on the outside and hit a Swanton Bomb off of the top of it through two tables.

4) Hawk Falls Off: In the midst of the WWE's 'Attitude Era' in 1999, the company liked to blur the lines between reality and storylines. One of the darkest examples of that type of storytelling was when the company started riffing off of Road Warrior Hawk's real-life alcohol issues. This led to a controversial angle where Hawk fell backwards off the titantron, landing off-camera.

3 Kanyon's Triple Fall: Late former WCW and WWE Superstar Kanyon had a crazy bump in a Triple Cage Match at WCW Slamboree 2000. Kanyon was thrown off of the roof of the triple cage by Mike Awesome and landed on the ramp with a thud to send the pay-per-view off the air in crazy fashion.

2) Shane McMahon's Fall from Grace: Shane McMahon did some insane things during his time with the WWE, but perhaps his craziest moment occurred at Backlash 2001. McMahon went head-to-head with The Big Show in a Last Man Standing Match and during the match he ascended up the arena's set. McMahon then leaped off of the steel set 50 feet in the air and landed on The Big Show.

1) Foley Falls: The Hell in a Cell match between The Undertaker and Mick Foley at King of the Ring 1998 was one of the most infamous bouts in WWE history. Mick Foley is crazy and has probably taken years off of his life with some of the bumps he has taken through the years, but the Hardcore Legend cranked things up a notch in that bout. Before the match could even start, Foley ascended up the cage and dared The Undertaker to follow him to the roof.

'Taker then sent Foley flying off of the top of the cell roof through the announce table down below. While normal people would call it quits and go home, Foley wasn't done yet as he was later chokeslammed through the top of the cell and onto the mat below in a spot that ended with Foley's tooth in his nose. Foley continued the match and after being attacked with a steel chair and some thumbtacks he finally lost one of the most unforgettable matches in WWE history.
