Peyton Manning Augusta: Hole In One For Denver QB At Famous Golf Course

Peyton Manning, a former NFL MVP, Super Bowl champion and Super Bowl MVP proved he is an athlete in every sense of the word this offseason at Augusta National golf course, where he shot a 77 and even drilled a hole-in-one.

Manning's hole-in-one was not even the first he's ever had, and according to the Broncos quarterback, his friends were more excited about it than he was. "I made one in college, but I was with some buddies," he said. "This was the first one I'd ever seen go in. In college, we looked in the bunker, the woods, everywhere, and somebody said, 'It's in the hole!' It's a little anti-climactic. But the guys I was playing with this time, they were so excited."

Manning reportedly played the round with Broncos legend John Elway and head coach John Fox. Fox said he "played horribly." Fox went on to say,  "After they saw the way I was playing, they moved me to a 20."

Manning is two offseasons removed from a career-threatening neck injury that required multiple surgeries to repair. As doctors continued to work on his neck, some speculated that the future Hall-of-Famer may never play again.

The Indianapolis Colts released him, after selecting Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck with the first overall pick in the 2012 draft. Manning then signed a deal with the Denver Broncos, leading them to a 13-3 record, AFC West division crown, and playoff berth.

He ended the 2012 season as the runner up to Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson in NFL MVP voting and put up gaudy statistics in a Denver offense that just one year prior relied on the rushing attack of Tim Tebow.

Manning ended the regular season with 4,569 yards, 37 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, while completing 68.6 percent of his passes.
