Anderson Silva is the all time record holder for the longest title defense in UFC history. From 2006 to 2013, Silva kept hold of his middleweight belt with 16 consecutive wins, 10 of them direct title defenses.

Now UFC president Dana White is telling reporters that the 39-year-old Brazilian will get another shot at the same belt he once owned, provided that he first take care of business against Nick Diaz in UFC 183.

Jones' Positive Test Throws a Wrench Into Sparring Plans with Silva

“Diaz and Anderson Silva are fighting," said Dana White, per Fox Sports. "And obviously if Anderson Silva wins that fight, and whether Vitor or Weidman win, then you have Anderson Silva versus either one of those guys."

A title challenge against Weidman would be especially juicy, given that the two have fought twice before in the past. Spider was knocked out by Weidman at UFC 162 in July 2013.

The two staged a rematch at UFC 168 in December of that year. Once again Silva came up short, losing via KO after breaking his leg in the middle of the second. Silva recently posted a video to Instagram of his surgically repaired leg, and it looks to be at full health.
