The editorial staff of WWE.com recently compiled a list of the 10 things they most want to see in WWE this 2015, and one of them is UFC superstar Ronda Rousey trading in the octagon for the ring.

"A lifelong fan of WWE, Rousey already has sports-entertainment ties after adopting Roddy Piper’s ‘Rowdy’ nickname, and leading a stable of female MMA fighters called “The Four Horsewomen,” the staff writes on the WWE's official site. "It also doesn’t hurt that Rousey is known for her vicious armbar submission and unapologetic trash talking. Seeing Rousey step inside the squared circle is a dream scenario that needs to happen in 2015.”

A Rousey/WWE connection has been teased before. This summer the 27-year-old bantamweight champ helped WWE business maven Stephanie McMahon complete her ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, and in August the Four Horsewomen made a prime ringside appearance at Summer Slam.

While a promotional appearance of some sort might be possible, UFC president Dana White is unlikely to let Rousey out of her UFC contract to do any actual fighting, according to Inquisitr.

If Rousey ever were to hypothetically to play a plumb role at Wrestlemania 31, it would be just the latest rung on her ladder to superstardom. In addition to her UFC dominance, Rousey has been name-checked in an Eminem song, made appearances in The Expendables 3 and the upcoming Entourage movie, and penned a memoir slated for a 2015 release.

Rousey's next fight goes down in Los Angeles at UFC 184 on February 28. Wrestlemania 31 kicks off March 29 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara.
