The St. Louis Cardinals (33-17) look to continue their recent success with their second game against the Kansas City Royals (21-27) on Tuesday night. The first pitch is 8:10 p.m. ET and will air live on MLB.com with a paid subscription and for free here.

St. Louis will start rookie pitcher Tyler Lyons (1-0). Lyons had a solid start in his Major League debut going seven full innings and allowing just one run en route to capturing his first career win.

The Cardinals lost Jaime Garcia for the year, and Jake Westbrook and John Gast are currently on the disabled list. Lyons will look to make a case for a permanent place in the St. Louis Cardinals' injury-plagued rotation.

The 25-year-old Lyons had his contract purchased from Triple-A Memphis for his debut last Wednesday in a 5-3 win at San Diego. "I pitched well, I got a hit and we won the ballgame," Lyons told ESPN. "It doesn't get much better than that."

St. Louis has won six straight on the road in the I-70 series between the two Missouri teams after Monday's 6-3 victory and is a major league-best 19-9 on the road this season. Yadier Molina homered and drove in four runs improving to 10 for 16 in his last five games.

"We're playing good," Molina said. "We've got some good offense. Right now, we're seeing the ball pretty good. We're finding some holes. We're showing the people we've got a pretty good team. Hopefully we can continue to do that for the rest of the season."

Kansas City has lost six straight, 17 of 21 overall and will try to avoid matching the home losing streak set last season when it began 0-10 at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals last dropped seven straight during a 12-game slide April 11-24, 2012.

The Royals will start Ervin Santana (3-4). Santana currently holds a 3.14 ERA and is coming off a losing effort in which he allowed five earned runs over 7.2 innings pitched.
