The New York Knickerbockers are a train wreck. That much has been certain and indisputable for weeks now. The one thing the team had going for it, however, was patience.
With a high pick in July's forthcoming draft and plenty of cap space for free agents in the offseason, fans were willing to cut this team a little slack even as the on-court product dragged. However, the Knicks' current 11-game losing streak has become so turgid that the MSG faithful (or whoever are the ones still willing to shill out three-figures for seats) has officially lost their patience.
Chants of "Fire Fisher" rang out inside MSG during the closing minutes of Sunday night's 95-82 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. Head coach Derek Fisher has now joined a notable but ignominious list that includes Mike Woodson, Mike D'Antoni, and Isiah Thomas before him.

"It's beyond my imagination at this point," said Amar'e Stoudemire, via ESPN New York. "I never thought I'd see this. ... This is definitely kind of mind-boggling."
Fisher chimed in about the losing as well. "Losing isn't enjoyable, in any way shape or form," Fisher said.
"So from an emotional standpoint, you have to just continue to manage what you can control and continue to keep your mind focused on positive things. I'm trying to make sure that I'm being the right type of leader for these guys.... We're going through a lot right now as a group so it's my job to hold it down for them as they struggle. So if I have to take the brunt of whatever it is then I'll take it. That's my job."
Well it looks like New Yorkers are ready to offer him that "brunt."
