Oscar Pistorius photos are a hot commodity entering 2015.
The Guardian reported Thursday about a courtroom sketch artist who was a former international pole vault athlete and coach who has known double amputee Olympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius since Pistorius was 16 years old.

Ironically, the sketch artist, 43-year-old Jaco Van Vuuren, was the sketch artist during Pistorius' murder trial, according to the Guardian.
In an interview with the British newspaper, Van Vuuren, who has been a pole vault instructor in Pretoria, South Africa since 1992, said he is friends with Pistorius and talked with him on occasion during the trial.

Van Vuuren added that he has kept tabs on his friend since Pistorius went to prison for a culpable homicide charge in October and revealed that Pistorius has had to deal with a unique problem while serving his time at Kgosi Mampuru II prison.
"The biggest problem now for Oscar is the top brass at correctional services coming into his cell day and night and taking selfies with him," Van Vuuren said, relaying a story he heard from a warden. "There's no control and the lower ranks can't chase them out, so Oscar is annoyed."
Photos of Oscar Pistorius were prevalent in 2014, thanks to his murder trial in the death of girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day morning in 2013.
International Business Times posted a picture of Pistorius covering his ears during the second day of his trial as one of the top sports photos of 2014.
Pistorius was serving a five-year sentence for a culpable homicide charge in Steenkamp's death, in which he shot her four times through a bathroom door in their Pretoria home. He was due to be released to house arrest after 10 months.
But Judge Thokozile Masipa recently ruled that prosecutors in the case could appeal the not-guilty ruling she issued on the murder charge Pistorius originally was facing. Pending the new trial before a panel of five appeals judges, Pistorius reportedly likely will not be released to house arrest in 10 months.
