WWE Superstar Randy Orton is going to have minor surgery on his nose which is why he has been held out of action after filming the WWE Studios movie The Condemned 2.
According to WreslteZone, "The Viper" is dealing with a deviated septum and is expected to have surgery in order to repair it.
The injury caused the WWE to remove Orton from the Long Island holiday house show main event last weekend and is the likely reason he didn't return on Monday Night RAW this past week despite being advertised -- though he did appear when the show went off the air.
The surgery is said to be minor, but Orton is slated to miss a few weeks of action, though his status for the Royal Rumble on Jan. 25 at the Wells Fargo Center remains up in the air.
Orton, 34, has been off of WWE television for over a month after the WWE wrote him off by having Seth Rollins, Kane and Triple H give him a beat down, turning him back to being a babyface in the process.
Orton took the time off to film the WWE Studios movie The Condemned 2, but he is expected to return sometime in the next couple of weeks and continue his feud with Rollins and The Authority.
"The Viper" was written off of television in the middle of November and he even missed the big Survivor Series event from his hometown of St. Louis at the Scottrade Center on Nov. 23, though there were reports he was backstage.
While the surgery is minor, it will likely push-back Orton's in-ring return as he gears up for WrestleMania season.
