The Memphis Grizzlies will take their home floor tonight down 3-0 to the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference finals and trying to avoid a humiliating four-game sweep. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:00 p.m., and the game will be televised on ESPN. It can be live streamed for free here, while Grizzlies fans can listen to the game on the radio at 92.9 ESPN FM while Spurs fans can do the same at 1200 WOAI.
The series thus far has been completely dominated by Spurs point guard Tony Parker, who is averaging 20.3 points and 10.7 assists per game, and Tim Duncan, who is three tenths of a rebound away from averaging a double-double.
Parker said that his team is not planning to let up either, despite a comfortable series lead. "We want to finish as soon as we can for a lot of different reasons," Parker said. "I think that we should give them no hope, and it's always sweet to win on the road. I'm pretty sure the whole team understands that we have to keep taking nothing for granted and keep playing our game and try to finish tomorrow." That line of thinking earned San Antonio a sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers in Round 1, although to Memphis' credit this has been a far more competitive series. The Grizzlies have dropped Games 2 and 3 in overtime.
The Grizzlies will not go down without a fight, however, according to point guard Mike Conley. "We have a lot of pride in this team, in this city," Conley said. "It's more than just basketball here, and we owe it to ourselves, owe it to the fans to not get swept and get embarrassed on our home court."
The Grizzlies do have positives to draw from; forward Zach Randolph is averaging a double-double in the series and they did hold a large lead in Game 3 before it dissipated. "We ain't been down like this, 0-3, so it's a different mindset," Randolph said. "It's now do or die. We've got to come out tomorrow and come out like we came out last game and just sustain it and not break down towards the end of the game."
