Holm enters MMA with a 33-2-3 career record in pro boxing. Nine of those wins were knockouts.

“When I first started doing MMA, people asked me what my goal was in this, and my goal is to be the first female that has titles in both MMA and boxing because nobody’s done that,” Holm said when she signed with UFC, per Yahoo Sports. “And it’s totally doable, and that’s my plan.”

Her opponent Pennington is 2-1 career in UFC. Pennington lost to Holm's UFC 181 replacement, Ashlee Evans-Smith, via a first round submission.
