Juventus' interest in Xherdan Shaqiri was just that...interest. According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Goal Transfer Talk), the club decided that the Bayern Munich talent is too expensive to purchase.

Per the report, Juventus is turning their attention to Galatasaray's Wesley Sneijder.
The reigning Serie A champions were in a pole position to acquire Shaqiri's signature, but according to Tuttosport (via Football Italia), rivals Inter Milan muddled negotiations. The Nerazzurri are offering a six-month loan, with an option of €15 million to make the deal permanent.

But whether it's Inter or Juve, Kubilay Turkyilmaz remains unimpressed. The former Swiss international warned his compatriot, vowing that a move to Serie A will be detrimental to his career.
"Not only because Serie A is the weakest of all the big leagues, but above all because they play so tactically there," Turkyilmaz wrote in Switzerland's Blick newspaper (via ESPN FC). "When I look at the clubs who are interested in Xherdan, there are clear preferences for me and Juventus would be a disaster."
"Shaq needs freedom to express himself," he added. "Furthermore, with such a transfer, the expectations would be for him to make the difference immediately. Patience is in short supply in Italy."
Playmakers are in short supply as well. Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri hinted at the possibilities of bringing an additional one come January.
"Who would I sign for January? Well, a trequartista wouldn't go amiss in this squad."
He wasn't Juventus' primary target, but even at 30 years old, Sneijder will fit the bill.
