President Obama recently took his annual vacation to Hawaii and inadvertently rescheduled a military wedding. The president was hitting the links, as many like to do while they vacation, and his presence on the golf course forced two Army captains to relocate their wedding.

According to MSN, Natalie Heimel and Edward Mallue Jr. were scheduled to be married on Saturday at Marine Corps Base Hawaii's Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course. The couple actually invited the president to attend once they realized that he would be in Hawaii for his vacation.

The couple received a letter saying that the president would be unable to attend the ceremony, and then they received a separate letter indicating that they would have to move the ceremony because Obama would be playing golf on the course that day.

"It was kind of ironic they got the letter from them and then, within hours, they were told they had to be moved due to him," said Mallue's sister. "It was emotional, especially for her - she's the bride and in less than 24 hours they had to change everything they had planned."

The catering company that was "handling logistics" for the wedding was prepared for such an occurrence because they always take precautions to make backup plans when the president visits the base. According to Naile Brennan, the manager of the catering company, the new location of Mallue and Heimel's wedding was "much prettier."

When he heard about the incident, President Obama put in a personal call to the couple to see what had happened.

"He apologized and congratulated them," Mallue's sister said. "We were all there, it was perfect."
