The NFL's league office was not buying any excuse that Ndamukong Suh's stomp was unintentional, suspending the Detroit Lions DT for one playoff game on Monday afternoon for stepping on the exposed ankle of Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The Lions travel to Dallas this weekend to face the no. 3 seeded Cowboys in the NFC Wild Card round. Suh is appealing his suspension.

Losing Suh would be a massive blow for the Lions. They're ranked second in the league in Total Defense and first in Rushing Defense, per NFL.com. Suh is the team's best pass rusher (8.5 sacks) and its best run defender.
Losing Suh's talent in stopping the run is an especially big blow, given that they'll be facing the NFL's leading rusher in DeMarco Murray. The Cowboys back put up 1,845 yards on the ground in the regular season. If Dallas is able to pound the Lions on the ground and control the time of possession, this game could be a rout.
