Mike Vick Insists He's Still NFL's Fastest QB

Philadelphia Eagles soon-to-be 33-year-old quarterback Michael Vick insists he’s still the NFL’s fastest quarterback.

Appearing on the “Dan Patrick Show,” Vick boasted he still possesses more open-field speed than both Colin Kaepernick and Robert Griffin III or any other NFL quarterback.

"These guys are young and they're fast and they're quick, the thing I do have is a very quick get-up," Vick told Patrick. "I really don't feel like there's a quarterback in the league who can beat me in a 40-yard dash. If somebody wants to set something up, I'll be more than glad to accept the challenge. But as of right now I'm going to say me. But Colin Kaepernick is fast and RG3 is fast as well."

Vick proved his mettle earlier this month, dusting speedy teammate and starting running back LeSean McCoy in the 40-yard dash at practice. McCoy has since tried to save face by claiming Vick cheated in the race. The two went back-and-forth for weeks about who was faster before Vick convinced new head coach Chip Kelly to allow the race to go down during which he reportedly easily bested McCoy by several strides.

A four-time Pro Bowler, Vick is the NFL's career leader among quarterbacks with 5,551 rushing yards. He averaged 5.4 yards per rush last season, the second-lowest mark of his 10-year career.
