The Seattle Seahawks defeated the Arizona Cardinals last weekend to seize control of the NFC West, thanks in no small part to Marshawn Lynch. Not everyone appreciated everything the running back did, though. The NFL handed down some discipline to 'Beast Mode' after a touchdown celebration.

Torrey Smith On His Way Out Of Baltimore?

According to Pro Football Talk, Lynch has been fined $11,050 for grabbing his crotch while he dove backwards into the end zone following a 79-yard touchdown run. Lynch was not flagged during the game for the move, which the league said counted as unsportsmanlike conduct.

Lynch has executed this move before without drawing the ire of the league office, most notably after his touchdown run when the Seahawks hosted the New Orleans Saints. Lynch sealed the game with a long touchdown run in overtime that has since been referred to as "The Beastquake."

Last year, however, Patriots cornerback Logan Ryan was fined for performing the same celebration.

While Lynch surely will consider the fine a pittance after such an incredible run during an important win, he also seems unlikely to repeat his "thank you" mantra over and over if the league wants to discuss the incident with him.

The Seahawks are currently 11-4 and can clinch the NFC West and a first-round bye in the playoffs with a win on Sunday against the St. Louis Rams (6-9). They can still win the division with a loss, but that would require the San Francisco 49ers to beat Arizona.
