The New York Knicks are having one of the worst seasons in franchise history, and it is starting to take its toll on the players and the fans alike. This was supposed to be a team that at least competed for a playoff spot, but instead, they are among the worst clubs in the league.

Miami Crowd Boos LeBron

Carmelo Anthony understands how the fans feel amid nis team's struggles.

"The fans are dying, we're dying. We're out there, we're not producing. We didn't expect, I didn't expect to be sitting at 5-26," Anthony said, according to ESPN. "So as much as I feel for the fans, I feel for us going through it, too. I don't expect nobody to feel sorry for us, I don't expect nobody to feel sorry for me."

Anthony also vented about the team's inability to play well for an entire game. The team often is competitive for much of a contest, but there will be a spurt or two during a match-up when opponents blitz the Knicks, leaving them with too much of a deficit to overcome.

Is Andrew Wiggins A Bust?

"We have spurts throughout the course of the game where we are showing something, showing that we're getting it and we're focused and we have the energy to go out and do it," said Anthony. "But there are times where we show that we're not even out there on the basketball court. ... We gotta start trying to put a whole game together."

The Knicks are currently 5-26 and are ahead of only the Philadelphia 76ers, who are actively tanking the entire season. The team lost to the Washington Wizards 102-91 on Christmas Day in a game that was much more lopsided than the final score indicates.
