Forgive Spurs All-star forward Tim Duncan if he might seem a bit preoccupied at times these days.
With the Spurs facing the Memphis Grizzlies for a shot at the NBA Finals, the San Antonio-Express is reporting Duncan and his wife, Amy, might be headed for divorce court. The couple, who have two children, is already in the process of legally separating, according to the newspaper.
According to The Express, court papers were recently filed in Bexar County District Court and include a stipulation that legal discovery in the case be postponed until after the Spurs last playoff game. The Spurs currently led the Grizzlies 2-0 in the Western Conference Finals.
The Express reported that although the proceedings have been cloaked in secrecy, several other factors also point to it being the star couple. According to the newspaper, the style of the case is A.S.D. vs. T.T.D., and Duncan’s middle name is Theodore.
Also, the petition indicates the couple wed on or about July 21, 2001, consistent with when the Duncan’s shared their vows. It also indicates the couple has two children, a daughter with the initials S.I.D. Born June 27, 2005 and a son, W.D.D., born Aug. 3, 2007, same as the Duncan’s.
The Duncans were college sweethearts at Wake Forest University. Duncan starred all four years for the Deacons and in 1997 was selected as the top pick in the NBA draft.
