By now you've seen the footage of Detroit Lions center Dominic Raiola stomping violently on Bears' defenseman Ego Ferguson's vulnerable ankle. It was a dirty play from a player that has a history of making dirty plays, and it has no place in the sport. The NFL suspended Raiola for Detroit's Week 17 game versus Green Bay for the infraction.

Ferguson's teammate Brandon Marshall, however, said on Chicago's ESPN Radio affiliate that thinks the league was too lenient on Raiola.

"One game, one game, one game? That's terrible," Marshall said, via Awful Announcing. "I don't even know Ego's injury. Is he OK? What if he broke it? What if he broke his ankle? If he breaks Ego's ankle, and Ego never plays again, how much money does that guy miss out on? This is what he does for a living.

"This guy is a dirty player, and he's a worse human being," Marshall continued. "He has no respect for himself, and one-game is freaking terrible. This was clear. This was clear. This guy literally jumped and stomped on this guy's ankle. And we give him one game? A game that means nothing to them; means nothing to them."

Marshall, who has struggled with bipolar disorder in the past and now advocate's for better mental health awareness, also stated that Raiola has called him "crazy" and other pejoratives during past games.

The ankle-stomping wasn't Raiola's first incident of classless behavior. Last month he deliberately dove at the New England Patriots' offensive line when the Pats where taking a knee on the final play of the game. And in 2013 he reportedly hurled obscenities and other insults at the University of Wisconsin marching band when the Lions visited Lambeau Field.
