Darko Milicic Kickboxing: Former NBA Bust Finds a Second Career Inside the Ring, Cuts His Leg Open [VIDEO]

The name "Darko" will forever be synonymous with an NBA draft bust, but now the man himself has reinvented himself as a kickboxer.

The 29-year-old Serbian made his debut for the World Kickboxing Association in his native country against a fighter by the name of Radovan Radoicic. Milicic had a significant height advantage and looked like a natural in the ring, but lost in the second round. Milicic sustained a pretty horrible gash on his leg and the fight was halted on doctor's orders.

"The next time, it will be better," Milicic said, via the Detroit News. "I'm invincible."

Darko was famously drafted by the Detroit Pistons as the second overall pick of the 2003 NBA Draft, going immediately after LeBron James. Milicic was an indisputable train wreck as an NBA project; he was buried on then-Pistons coach Larry Brown's bench and struggled in subsequent seasons, bouncing around to Orlando, Memphis, Boston, New York, and Minnesota.

NBA prospects bust all the time, but what makes Milicic's failures so notable is that he was drafted just before Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade went with the next three picks. Solid NBA vets like Kirk Hinrich, Boris Diaw, and David West also followed Milicic's selection.
