Caroline Wozniacki is done with marathons - at least until she stops sprinting all over tennis courts.

The Danish tennis star and No. 8 player in the world said recently that the New York City marathon she completed in three hours, 26 minutes and 33 seconds in early November, satisfied her craving for personal challenges outside her chosen profession, tennis.com reported.

For now.

"I have done one marathon and would definitely like to do another one. I actually qualified for the Boston Marathon," said Wozniacki, who will not compete in that race because it falls in the middle of the tennis season.

"So for now I am very happy to be playing tennis and I am focusing on that. I've done one marathon and for now that's enough. Maybe after my tennis career ends I might do another one or even try my hand at triathlons. That would be a really good challenge."

Wozniacki decided she wanted to run a marathon shortly after former fiancé Rory McIlroy announced that the couple split up in early May, olympictalk.nbcsports.com reported.

Wozniacki, the one-time No. 1 player in the world who appeared content to give up her tennis career to start a family with McIlroy, watched her world ranking plummet to No. 16. She was battling a hamstring injury as well as the stunning news of the breakup when she lost in the first round of the Australian Open.

The turnaround she accomplished in the six months following her breakup is remarkable.

She captured her first tournament of the year at the Istanbul Cup in July - on the same day McIlroy won the British Open. She then zoomed back up the tennis rankings, advancing to the finals of both the U.S. Open in September and the WTA World Tour Finals in Singapore in October.

The marathon run put an exclamation point on her conquering her personal problems earlier in the year and has given ambitious goals in 2015.

"I just want to win as many tournaments as possible. And winning a Grand Slam would be amazing," she said, according to gulfnews.com. "And staying injury free would be another goal as that would help me play well and win as many tournaments as possible."
