According to media reports, police have arrested 22-year old Markale Deandra Hart in connection with the shooting and charged him with murder. Hart is currently being held on $150,000 bond. Police do not believe that there will be any additional arrests in the case, as Hart apparently acted alone, and they are currently investigating the motive behind the shooting.
Mitchell was 18 years old. He was a freshman at Auburn, and he had been redshirted for this season by the team, meaning that he could practice with the team and attend meetings, but he was unable to play in any games.
