Adrian Peterson is currently suspended indefinitely from the NFL, but he has not given up on getting that suspension overturned. As it currently stands, Peterson cannot be reinstated prior to April 15 of 2015, but he may have the evidence he needs to get his suspension lifted soon.

Peterson has previously claimed that NFL executive Troy Vincent promised that the Minnesota Vikings star would only receive a two game suspension. According to media reports, an audio recording of the promise has surfaced, and Peterson may be able to use it to get his suspension overturned.

NFL arbiter Harold Henderson denied Peterson's appeal of his suspension last week by saying that he had not proven that he had been treated unfairly by the league. Well it certainly seems like a recording of a broken promise may constitute unfair treatment.

On the recording, Vincent never actually uses the word promise, but he does say "I gave you my word." He also indicates that things will work out better if Peterson would "go through the process" quietly.

There is plenty of room for speculation, but it certainly sounds like Vincent's words can be easily interpreted as: if you play ball, we will take care of you and get you back on the field soon.

The NFLPA has already said that they are considering taking legal action on Peterson's behalf.
