O.J. Simpson Talking Post Release, Making College Tour Plans

The odds of O.J. Simpson being granted a new trial are hardly a given, but the former NFL star and Hall of Famer is already making post release plans.

According to TMZ, Simpson has told confidantes if he is granted a new trial--- and thus somehow granted release--- on the robbery and kidnapping charges that landed him behind bars he will embark on a nationwide lecture tour of college campuses ultimately aimed at raising cash for himself.

In one recent conversation, The New York Post reported Simpson said of his best-laid plans: “I’m excited. I mean, they teach the ‘Trial of the Century’ in school, so who better to talk about it than me?”

Simpson is currently serving a 9 to 33-year sentence after being convicted of storming a Las Vegas hotel room with five other men and holding several people hostage at gun-point stemming from a dispute over mementos he believed were stolen from him.

Thus far, he has served just five years, but is seeking a new trial on the grounds he received grossly ineffective and subpar legal representation at trial.

As for the “Trial of the Century,’ it’s been nearly two decades now since he was acquitted in the gruesome murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman.
