Metta World Peace joined KTTV-TV, the Fox 11 affiliate in Los Angeles, to talk sports with Liz Habib and do the weather with meteorologist Pablo Pereira on Friday. Since then, the video of the colorful Lakers small forward has gone viral online and can be viewed at the bottom of this page.

World Peace also discussed joining the Lakers and what made him want to make the jump to Los Angeles during the 2009 offseason. "I came to L.A. because of Phil Jackson, Kobe [Bryant] reminded me of [Michael] Jordan, Lamar [Odom] reminded me of [Scottie] Pippen and it was just the [Chicago] Bulls all over again," said World Peace. "The Bulls were my favorite team growing up."

World Peace also commented on the comparisons made recently between teammate Kobe Bryant and hall of famer Michael Jordan. The forward believes that individual focus takes away from the team nature of the game.

"It's about the wins," said World Peace. "It's not about the individual."

The veteran forward averaged 12.4 points per game for the Lakers this past season, but was limited throughout the playoffs due to a knee injury.

"I thought we had a great team and a chance to win the championship this year," he said. "The other teams were better than us. That's exactly what happened."

World Peace was optimistic about the Lakers' chances next season. Despite high expectations from an offseason that saw them gain major talent, Los Angeles struggled to stay healthy and find their chemistry early and at times throughout the season.

"It takes chemistry. It takes teamwork. It takes deferring," he said. "It definitely takes Dwight Howard to come back."

World Peace as a weatherman was what one familiar with the forward would expect based on his personality. This wasn't the first time he did the weather, previously visiting Canadian station CTV in 2012.
