With one leg remaining in the Liga MX final, Club America have already won the January transfer window. According to Fox Deportes' Ruben Rodriguez, Tijuana forward Dario Benedetto has signed a four-year, $8 million contract with America.

Per the report, both Cruz Azul and Monterrey were also in play for his services.

The signing makes Benedetto the third acquisition for Las Aguilas this transfer window. Miguel Samudio ($1.5 million) and Darwin Quintero ($12 million) have reportedly already agreed to terms.

In 17 league appearances with Tijuana, Benedetto finished with a club-best nine goals and 17 total created chances. No other player on Antonio Mohamed's roster can match that productivity. Striker Oribe Peralta leads the club with eight goals in 22 appearances.

Unfortunately for America, Benedetto's services cannot be utilized ahead of time. The club faces a 1-0 deficit entering the second leg of the Apertura final. A stagnant performance at the Estadio Universitario saw just two of eight attempts finish on target. That, however, is not enough to deter spirits in Mexico City.

"I have a spectacular relationship with the players," Mohamed said (via EuroSport). "It's the best thing I'll take with me. That, and the affection of the fans. Now, we have to try to enjoy this week and become champions. That's all I have in my head."

America hosts Tigres UANL at the Estadio Azteca on Dec. 15.
