Say what you will about the O.J. Simpson saga, but it was compelling, and it should make for great television. The FX network has a new show coming out, and the miniseries will focus on the very public fall from grace that NFL Hall of Famer O.J. Simpson went through.

According to media reports, the series will be spearheaded by Ryan Murphy, who also created the wildly popular American Horror Story. The new series will be similar to that one in that it will be more of an anthology of miniseries rather than a traditional television series.

The first season will focus on America's most well-known disgraced football hero, Orenthal James Simpson. The season will cover Simpson's trial, and Cuba Gooding Jr. will portray Simpson in the show. The narrative will be based on the book The Run of his Life: People v. O.J. Simpson.

Some close to Simpson are already excited about the show, including Simpson's most notable house guest, Kato Kaelin. When asked about the choice of Gooding Jr. to play Simpson, Kaelin said, "Cuba's my friend. I think he's gonna do great."

Kaelin went on to say that Simpson "had an arrogance about him" that is reminiscent of a football star Gooding already played. "I think [O.J.'s personality] is a lot like Cuba's character in 'Jerry Maguire,'" said Kaelin. "He wanted the attention ... that was pretty much O.J. Simpson."
