Boston's Terrence Williams Nabbed On Gun, Domestic Abuse Charges

Reserve Boston Celtics forward Terrence Williams was arrested on gun charges in Kent, Wa. early Sunday following a disturbance police say stemmed from a domestic dispute.

According to the Kent Reporter, responding officers took Williams into custody after it was alleged he waved a gun at the mother of his child. Police were called to the scene just before 2 p.m. when Williams stopped by the woman’s home for a scheduled visitation exchange of the 10-year-son they share. An argument between the two parents quickly ensued, and that’s when the victim alleges Williams waved a gun at her.

“We investigate and treat all cases such as this very seriously regardless of the status of those involved,” Police Detective Melanie Frazier told The Reporter. The Seattle Times also reports that by the time police arrived at the woman’s home Williams had left the area and officers later took him into custody at a different location.

Selected No. 11 by the New Jersey Nets in the 2009 draft, Williams played in 24 games with Boston last season after initially be signed to a 10-day contract. He averaged 4.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists. The Celtics have since signed him to a multi-year, non-guaranteed deal that runs through 2014.
