With the end of the college football season comes speculation for the All-American team roster.

Short of the Heisman Trophy, a spot on this list is the highest honor a college football player can receive, and this year we have a sizable field of worthy candidates.

The Best and Worst of the College Gridiron Season

We already know three names that are locks to land on the roster -- Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota, Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper, and Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon were all head-and-shoulders above others at their position this season. They each earned a trip to New York City for the Heisman Trophy presentation, and each will be an All-American as well.

Here are a few other predictions for who makes the cut:

Kevin White, WR West Virginia
This Mountaineers wide receiver was a paragon of consistency throughout 2014. He finished with 1318 yards on 102 receptions, with 9 of those catches going for six. He saved his best play for when it mattered most, with a 132-yard, 2-touchdown effort in a win against Baylor -- the game that would keep the Bears out of the national title playoff.

Tevin Coleman, RB Indiana
That Melvin Gordon had a phenomenal year for Wisconsin is on some level no surprise -- the program has a history or cultivating dominant rushers. Most casual fans would be forgiven for forgetting Indiana even has a football team. Coleman came out of nowhere his junior year, eclipsing the 2,000-yard mark and sporting an unfathomable 7.5 yards-per-carry average. Coleman had just 1183 yards rushing in his first two seasons combined.

Maxx Williams, TE Minnesota
This Golden Gophers tight end only catch 29 passes on the season, but that's because he was essential to pass protection and the Minnesota ground game. There's few better blocking tight ends in college football, and Williams also proved explosive in intermittent doses -- 471 yards and 7 touchdowns proves he's just as deadly downfield as at the line of scrimmage.
