WWE CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon may have struck a chord with some of the company's talent as many Superstars and Divas are reportedly unhappy with some of the comments he made on "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's podcast special on the WWE Network.

When the WWE Hall of Famer asked McMahon about the lack of top talent and the difficulty in making new stars, the chairman said that present WWE Superstars need to "grab the brass ring" and put themselves above the pack.
McMahon added that no one is going the extra mile to stand out, which is why John Cena has been the top guy for a decade.
WWE SmackDown Spoilers For Friday
McMahon was appearing on a special edition of Austin's Steve Austin Show podcast, which aired on the WWE Network following Monday Night RAW on Dec. 1.
According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, many talents believe McMahon's comments were a "joke" and are upset by what the CEO had to say. While none of the talent will say it publicly, behind the scenes many of them disagree with McMahon's comments.
McMahon is the one who controls how the WWE's talents are used and it's hard for some of them to breakout if he doesn't choose to play to their strengths and book them stronger, which is why a lot of the talent didn't agree with what he said since he is the one in charge.
One talent that falls into that category is Alex Riley, who has been campaigning for a push with the hashtag #FreeRiley and recently alluded to McMahon's comments on Twitter.
Don't crack the door open for a Alex Riley, I WILL NOT hesitate to kick that b---h open! #BrassRing
There's a feeling that McMahon refuses to blame himself for the WWE's failures, but talent also can't make the same kind of money anywhere else so they are stuck in the WWE with some of them floundering.
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon have taken a more aggressive role backstage, but it has always been said that McMahon has the last say and he goes back and forth a lot on decisions. It's said when McMahon sours on a talent, it's unlikely that a push for them will come easy.
While McMahon's comments were meant to inspire, they ended up agitating some of the talent backstage in the WWE.
