For the first time ever, a male model has won America's Next top model. Keith Carlos became the first man to win the competition in the show's history by beating out a group of 30 other male and female contestants.

According to media reports, for his victory, Carlos landed a modeling contract with Next Model Management and a photo spread in Nylon Magazine. Carlos was excited about his win, and he announced his victory with an Instagram photo of himself with host Tyra Banks.

Carlos hails from Bridgeport, Connecticut, and he spent time in the NFL before going on the show. He spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants before injuries ended his career prematurely.

Carlos was determined not to let that stop him, however. After winning, Keith said, "I've always been told I should model... but I was so attached to football that I never really immersed myself into it. So once my career came to an end, I was like, 'I'm gonna do something different.'"
