WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio has been involved in a contract dispute with the WWE, but it seems as though after his recent meeting with Vince McMahon he could be returning to television soon.

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that Mysterio and McMahon have come to an agreement and the WWE expects the master of the 619 back on television soon as a result.

Per the report, McMahon realizes that the WWE is short on top draws for the Hispanic market, which led to McMahon becoming looser on agreeing to some of Mysterio's financial and other demands in order to bring him back.

With Alberto Del Rio being fired earlier this year due to his altercation with a WWE social media employee, the company now sees Mysterio as more of an asset as a top draw than ever.

Del Rio ended up departing and signing with Mexico's AAA promotion and it was reported that Mysterio would follow closely behind him.

Now that Mysterio and the WWE have worked things out, it appears as though Mysterio will re-sign with the WWE when his current deal is up in May rather than defecting.

Per the new agreement, Mysterio will also see his workload out of the ring increase as he will start doing more promotional appearances for the WWE.

The decision for Mysterio to stick around in the WWE likely stems from the company offering him a more lucrative deal than any other promotion is capable of. Mysterio also has been with the company for several years and has many close friends in the organization.

Reports surfaced earlier this year that Mysterio had a handshake agreement with Triple H for the two sides to part ways, but the deal was broken up by McMahon. The CEO used a clause in the contract to keep Mysterio in the deal due to the fact that he missed so much time due to injury.

Mysterio appeared in a vignette during AAA's TripleMania XXII event on Aug. 17 that aired on the same night as WWE's SummerSlam and he congratulated the promotion on 22 years of success. Mysterio also told the fans he'd see them soon, likely hinting at his desire to jump ship from the WWE.

At the end of the video, there was a graphic that said #FreeRey, alluding to his contract freeze with the WWE. The WWE was reportedly very angry over the vignette, but it seems as though the two sides patched things up.

Mysterio hasn't appeared on WWE television since the Monday Night RAW episode after WrestleMania XXX on April 7.

Mysterio, 39, is a one-time WWE Champion and two-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
