With NFL Hall of Famer Fran Tarkenton and TMZ now turning against him, Robert Griffin III's fall from grace is near complete.

TMZ reported early Saturday that an anonymous Washington Redskins teammate of Griffin's says the former Baylor quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner is becoming vilified in the locker room.

Redskins inside sources say Robert Griffin III will not return to the team next season

"No one is happy ... no one gets the hype around him anymore," the anonymous player told TMZ. "He's secluded and it affects us in the game. We don't have that real rapport. He's lost confidence and is complacent now."

Washington Post writer Dan Steinberg sent a tweet Saturday morning, insinuating that wide receiver Desean Jackson is the "anonymous player."

Philadelphia a potential landing spot for Robert Griffin III if Redskins release him?

Whoever it is doesn't seem to think RG3 will stay in the league much longer.

"I don't see him being in the NFL for that long," the source told TMZ. "... I think he goes into politics. He's good at that kinda thing."

The sentiment is consistent with the opinion of Tarkenton, who reminded CBSSports.com that he predicted Griffin's demise two years ago.

"He came into the league with an arrogance," Tarkenton said. "He goes into Washington, which is the worst place for him to go. They have been so hungry for a quarterback and for winning. They worshipped him. Here's RG3; he's our savior, he's our guy. His father gets involved and is in the locker room -- I have never seen a father in a locker room on Sundays.

"The owner, Dan Snyder, adopts him and becomes his best friend. So RG3, at 21, 22, thought he was Jesus, right? And he was making pontifical statements about how he approached the game. I was listening to him the offseason after his rookie year, which was not a bad year, and I'm saying, 'Holy s---, this guy is out of control with his ego.' That was the first sign you saw that he lacked leadership."

Tarkenton added that he doesn't believe Griffin is a student of the and that his days in the NFL are limited.

"There's no discipline and understanding of the defense because he is a pontificator," Tarkenton said. "He will never make it. He will be out of football. He will be in the same graveyard as JaMarcus Russell and Vince Young."
