Tonight at 7 p.m. ET, the Vancouver Canucks (18-7-1, 37 points) and Toronto Maple Leafs (13-9-3. 29 points) take the ice at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto for the first of two meetings this season. The game can be live streamed here. Vancouver fans can hear all of the action on TEAM 1040 while Toronto fans can do the same on TSN 1050.
Vancouver enters play on a two-game winning streak and continues a seven-game road trip it is 3-1 on thus far while Toronto has won two of its last three and continues a five-match homestand it has a 2-1 mark on. The Canucks are second in the Pacific Division while the Maple Leafs own the top wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.
The Canucks are coming off of a 3-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday that saw Brad Richardson notch two goals and an assist.
"We want to play well against the top teams, but I don't think they had their best tonight and I think they'll probably say that," Richardson said per NHL.com. "I think we obviously did some good things to deter them, but probably not their best effort."
The Sedin twins have paced the Canucks lineup this season as Henrik and Daniel each have a team-best 24 points off of six goals and 18 assists. Radim Vrbata, meanwhile, has 20 points off of 11 markers and nine helpers.
The Maple Leafs are coming off of a 5-3 loss at the hands of the New Jersey Devils on Thursday.
"They're a good team, they won [Thursday] night in a tough building," center Tyler Bozak told NHL.com about the impending matchup with the Canucks. "We have to be ready."
Bozak is second on the team with 24 points off of 11 goals and 13 assists while Phil Kessel leads the Leafs with 27 points off of 13 tallies and 14 helpers. James van Riemsdyk has lit the lamp 10 times this season and added 11 assists to place third on the team with 21 points.
In net, Toronto may turn to Jonathan Bernier for an eighth straight game and he is 9-6-3 with a 2.76 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage.
Vancouver is likely to counter with Ryan Miller in the crease and he is tied for second in the NHL with 16 wins and has a 2.45 GAA and a .910 save percentage. Miller is tied for third in the league with three shutouts.
It's an inter-conference matchup when the puck drops on the Canucks and Maple Leafs tonight at the Air Canada Center in Toronto.
