Sting has officially signed a performance deal with the WWE after several months of back-and-forth and it appears as though Steve Borden will work six dates with the company.

Busted Open reports that Sting officially signed a performance deal with the WWE after previously agreeing to be a part of the WWE 2K15 video game and have merchandise made for him.

Per the report, the deal is for six appearances which is waned down to five now that Sting appeared at the Survivor Series to confront Triple H and aid Team Cena over Team Authority in the main event by placing Dolph Ziggler on top of Seth Rollins.

Sting is all but confirmed for a match at WrestleMania 31 on March 29 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. which leaves four other dates for him to appear. The dates will likely lead up to the Show of Shows.

As for Sting's role at WrestleMania 31, it is likely that he will take on Triple H after the events of the Survivor Series.

It has been rumored for years that the WWE wanted to put Sting against The Undertaker, and Sting has said himself that he'd like to work the match. There have since been reports that The Undertaker is doubtful for this year's show and that Triple H will take on the former WCW and TNA icon instead.

Sting has said in interviews that he wants to work his first WWE match -- and likely the last of his career -- at WrestleMania 31 and he was hoping to face The Undertaker, but also listed Triple H as an option.

The Undertaker vs. Sting was rumored for last year's show, but the WWE went with Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar instead. Lesnar subsequently defeated 'Taker to end The Streak in a match that saw the Deadman get injured while Lesnar went on to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

The Undertaker is unlikely to return for this year's show, so Sting vs. Triple H is the strongest possibility.

Sting has been the lone former major WCW main eventer that Vince McMahon and the WWE haven't been able to lure over, but it appears as though the sides are fully onboard for a storyline. There are rumors that Sting will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame at some point as well.

After years of trying and months of speculation, it seems as though Sting will make his WWE debut at the Show of Shows and appear four more times before the biggest event of 2015.
