The Johnny Football phenomenon will have to wait for a different week.

Manziel replaced Cleveland starter Brian Hoyer in the second half of last Sunday's loss to the Buffalo Bills. The Browns rookie displayed solid accuracy and even rushed for a touchdown with his own legs, leading many to speculate whether he had won over the job full time.

Browns head coach Mike Pettine further contributed to that speculation when he insisted on waiting until Wednesday to name which of the two would start Sunday versus the Indianapolis Colts.

Well, it's Wednesday, and now we have our starter. According to Fox's Jay Glazer, it's still Hoyer's gig for the near future.

CBS Sports and The Cleveland Plain Dealer have also confirmed Glazer's initial report.

Don't expect Hoyer to have a long leash on Sunday and thereafter, however. The Browns are currently sitting at 7-5, right in the thick of the AFC Wild Card and AFC North chases. With key games against not only Indy, but divisional rivals Cincinnati and Baltimore, Manziel could very well get a second opportunity to provide a spark off the Browns bench.
