Los Angeles police say a woman claiming to have been sexually assaulted by Philadelphia 76ers guard Nick Young is lying and was attempting to extort money from him.
TMZ reported this week the unidentified female was suing Young, claiming he slipped her a date rape drug, and then raped her after she agreed to go on a date with him. The gossip site now adds law enforcement officials never believed her allegations, immediately dismissing them as bogus and part of an extortion scheme.
TMZ also reports that at the time the alleged victim finally went to police she was already considering a lawsuit. Blacksportsonline.com said that the woman made direct demands of Young--- to either pay up or be sued and vilified.
The woman initially claimed that Young slipped the date drug into her drink, instantly causing her to lose her memory. The next morning, she alleges, she awoke in his bed and bleeding from the vagina. After demanding that Young take her home, she claimed she then went to the UCLA Santa Monica Rape Treatment Center where doctors found her injuries to be consistent with a rape attack.
Following the hospital treatment, the woman says she's continued to undergo psychiatric evaluations. She's suing Young for sexual battery, sexual assault, false imprisonment and demanding unspecified damages
