Miami Heat: Chris Bosh, Udonis Haslem Burglaries May Be Connected

USA Today is reporting police now believe the recent home burglaries of Miami Heat players Chris Bosh and Udonis Haslem may be related.

South Florida police are now said to be pursuing that theory and late Wednesday Miami Beach police spokeswoman Vivian Hernandez acknowledged “there are certain similarities in the two thefts aside from them both involving Heat players.” Authorities declined to reveal what other patterns they might have detected.

Bosh’s Miami Beach waterfront mansion was burglarized on April 4th while he and his wife were out celebrating his birthday. The Miami Herald reported thieves made off with at least tens of thousands in jewelry, cash and handbags.

Police said there were no signs of forced entry and the couple’s babysitters were home with their children at the time of the theft. A little more than a week later on April 13, Haslem’s unoccupied Southwest Ranches home was hit but a burglar alarm sounded before bandits were able to make off with any valuables.

The Herald reported deputies quickly responded and surrounded the expansive property encircled by a fence and high hedges.  Once they entered the home, police found bags containing shoes, jewelry and other valuables strewn throughout the home.

Though two counties apart, the players’ home are just over 30 miles apart. No arrests have been made in either case.
