Though the Capitals are coming off of a loss, the team felt it played a good game overall on Wednesday.

"I thought we had a lot better net presence [Wednesday]," defenseman Matt Niskanen told NHL.com. "It just seemed like we had one, two guys right in front of the blue paint a lot of the time. We had some point shots that the goalie didn't see, he made saves on that he didn't see, or we just missed the net. A few scrambles around the net too. That's one thing that we've tried to get better at."

Nicklas Backstrom has led the Capitals on the score sheet thus far, notching 21 points off of five goals and 16 assists while Alex Ovechkin has a team-best 11 markers along with nine helpers for 20 points and Marcas Johansson has found the twine eight times and added six assists for 14 points.
