Mario Williams: Ex Fiancee Countersues In Ring Dispute

Mario Williams’s ex-fiancée, Erin Marzouki, has filed a counter suit against the Buffalo Bills star defensive end in their ongoing dispute over his attempts to retrieve the engagement ring he once gave her, according to reports.

Williams filed suit earlier this month demanding that the $785,000, 10-carat ring he gave to Marzouki immediately be returned to him in the wake of their breakup.

According to the Buffalo News, earlier this week Marzouki filed a legal response and counterclaim in Harris County, Texas, arguing that Williams is only suing to “harass and scare” the defendant. “This is a stupid lawsuit because it has no legal merit… he is a victim of his emotions,” her attorneys wrote.

Marzouki’s counterclaim also contends that Williams broke up with her at least five times during their ten-month engagement, including two days into a family trip to the Bahamas to celebrate their pending nuptials.

Marzouki also asserts Williams has previously told her to keep the ring and a part of him has always “wanted to continue to live the life of a wealthy bachelor who could do whatever he wanted, with whomever he wanted, whenever he wanted.”

As proof, Marzouki’s attorneys maintain she has more than 200 pages of text messages sent to her by Williams. According to her, the ring is now being stored in a security-deposit box and she has no intentions of disposing of it.

The Houston Chronicle reported a court hearing on the matter will be held Friday.
