Today at 3:30 p.m. ET the No. 4 Mississippi State Bulldogs (10-1, 6-1) will try to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive with a rivalry road game against the fading No. 19 Ole Miss Runnin' Rebels (8-3, 4-3), fresh off a loss to Arkansas. Mississippi State fans can catch the radio broadcast on WMOX AM 1010, while Ole Miss fans may do the same by turning their dials to WFMN-FM 97.3.

"This is a game that doesn't take a lot of motivation to get up for," Ole Miss linebacker Deterrian Shackelford said of this year's Egg Bowl, the first clash since 1999 in which both sides are ranked. The Bulldogs have more on the line--a national championship opportunity may hang in the balance-but Mississippi State's players are trying to remain level-headed.

"You don't want to get ahead of yourself," Mississippi State offensive lineman Ben Beckwith said, "but there's a lot on the line."

Bulldogs quarterback and Heisman contender Dak Prescott is excited to play four quarters of this game. A season ago he played in just the fourth and led them to an overtime win. "It's a game played with emotions and a game played with the heart," Prescott said. "It's a good rivalry and I'm glad to be a part of it."

His counterpart, Bo Wallace, played in last week's loss with a sore ankle that is still giving him problems leading into this contest. Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze is fully expecting Wallace to be on the field though.

"It would take a lot more than that to keep him out of this game," Freeze said.
