For the last several years, it seems a new fervor over the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao superfight crops up. The two have been considered the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world for years, reside in the same weight class, and yet have never fought.

Jerry Jones, Jay Z Talk After Giants Game

Right now, the debate about whether the fight will happen has heated up again following recent comments by Top Rank CEO Bob Arum about being willing to do what it takes to make the dream a reality.

Naturally, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wanted to go on the record saying that should the fight ever come together, he thinks it should happen in the same venue where his Dallas Cowboys play their games, AT&T Stadium.

According to media reports, Jones indicated that he would aggressively pursue the opportunity to host the fight by tempting fighters with the possibility of fighting in a big media market and in front of over 100,000 fans. Though it is only five years old, his stadium has already played host to a Final Four and a Super Bowl, and it will be the site of the championship game following college football's first-ever playoff.

What's Next For Algieri After Losing To Pacquiao?

Jones is aware that he would have strong competition from casinos in Las Vegas and possibly even abroad when trying to host the fight.

"But I don't want the headlines to say, 'Jones says he's got more than Vegas has got if we got into a throw-down,'" said Jones. "I don't want to say it's impossible, but I don't want anything like that. I do know there is no question that we can have the largest gate in boxing. I feel on sound footing on how to bid it. And I know we can give them the best venue. We're the place to be."
