By now the world is well aware that the NFL’s most famous backup quarterback, Johnny Manziel, was involved in a physical altercation outside Cleveland’s high-end apartment complex “The 9” early in the morning of Friday November 21.

Browns QB Punchs Fan Seeking Hug

A purported brawl broke out after a 33-year-old man by the name of Chris Gonos approached Manziel and his posse, attempting to hug the Browns quarterback. Johnny Football then allegedly punched Gonos in the face.

Further details have trickled in to Cleveland Scene -- the outlet that broke this story in the first place – in which Gonos further recounts the situation:

“I got a bruised hip and a bruised elbow, and somebody hit me in the back of the head, too. My brother saw what was going on and he ran he tackled Johhny Manziel – I guess he got the sack and the fumble. He tackled him, yeah, I’m talking about he speared him all the way to the back wall. I was cornered; I was by myself and Johnny Manziel and like three or four of his buddies were all coming at me. (My brother) just came to help me out, and I guess Johnny sucker punched him while the security guard was holding him. It should be all on video.”

However, according to details obtained by USA Today’s The Big Lead blog, Gonos is no angel himself. He and his family recently ran afoul of authorities after reportedly skimming money off restaurants they owned with the intention of avoiding filing Currency Transaction Reports.

Gonos has also failed drug tests for marijuana and cocaine. No doubt Manziel and his legal team will seize upon these details should this incident lead to any sort of legal issues for the former Heisman winner.
