The more June Steenkamp talks about incidents in her daughter's three-month relationship with Oscar Pistorius, the more questions arise about why Reeva Steenkamp entered into a relationship with him.

BBC.com reported that June Steenkamp talked further on the BBC World Service program, "Outlook," about her daughter's romance with the double-amputee sprinter, which ended on Valentine's Day, 2013 when Pistorius shot her four times through the bathroom door in their home.

Oscar Pistorius more of a hot topic than beheading of American journalist

"In a relationship of three months, love makes you blind to everything, you're just happy - but that wasn't the case," June Steenkamp said. "She couldn't understand why they were fighting, but he was trying to dictate to her, make her into maybe his arm candy or whatever."

Earlier this week, Steenkamp said Pistorius treated her daughter like his trophy. She said she didn't understand their relationship - how fighting was so prevalent in what she considered a new relationship.

Reeva Steenkamp only a "trophy" to Olympic boyfriend Oscar Pistorius?

On "Outlook," Steenkamp talked about messages Pistorius sent to Reeva Steenkamp - it was unclear in what form those messages were delivered - text, email, phone or other - that came out during Pistorius' murder trial.

"I didn't really know more until the messages were read out in court. 'I thought you'd be proud to go out with me, but you just pick on me all the time. Incessantly. Don't do this, don't do that. Your accent irritates me. I don't want you to wear that dress, wear this dress.'

"All about Oscar, Oscar, Oscar, all what he wants. And she wasn't that kind of girl who would be dictated to."

The picture June Steenkamp paints adds to the mystery of the relationship. Reeva Steenkamp, a model, allowed Pistorius to bully her verbally during a relationship just coming out of its infancy, according to her mother. They fought for much of the relationship, her mother said.

June Steenkamp also believes her daughter never had sexual intercourse with Pistorius, but Pistorius testified that he thought Steenkamp was asleep in bed next to him when an intruder locked himself in their bathroom.

Unfortunately for June Steenkamp, the truth may never be known.
