The Heat have a tough task ahead of them tonight against the Clippers, a team that's expected to compete for an NBA title this summer. They got a boost from stopping a three-game slide Monday night against the Nets that featured 21 points from point guard Mario Chalmers.
"We needed this game tonight," Chalmers, who has taken on a greater scoring load while teammates Dwyane Wade and Luol Deng battle injuries, said. "After the losing streak we were on, it's good to get on the road and get a big win like this."
Right now Chalmers is averaging a career-high 13.5 points to go with 4.3 assists. Meanwhile Chris Bosh has been an anchor for the Heat, posting averages of 19.9 points and 8.7 rebounds, both of which are big increases from when he played the role of spot-up shooter in the "Big Three" era.
Bosh may have a rough go tonight against Los Angeles' massive frontcourt though. Blake Griffin leads the Clippers in scoring at 22.8 points a game while DeAndre Jordan has been a glass-eater at 12.3 rebounds a night. Together the pair is putting up 31 points and 19 rebounds a game.
