Aside from the new public service announcements decrying domestic violence, the Ray Rice case had largely faded to the background... until last night's episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. The hit television show depicted an assault that was inspired by the video of the former Ravens player hitting his then-fiancée in an elevator.

Josh Gordon to "Tear This League Up"

According to ET, actress Megan Good plays a woman staying in an abusive relationship with a well-known sports figure even after a video becomes public that shows him beating her. The actor insists that he is not portraying Ray Rice, but the parallels between the situations are uncanny.

In the episode, the athlete is shown punching a woman with a violent left hook in a stairwell and subsequently dragging her limp body through a parking garage. It is impossible to watch without recalling the video of Ray and Janay Rice in the hotel elevator and him dragging her into the hallway after knocking her unconscious.

Peterson to Appeal Suspension

Rice is currently suspended by the NFL and does not have a team, as the Baltimore Ravens released him from his contract earlier in the season. Rice's case is currently being appealed after he was originally suspended for two games, only to have it made indefinite later in the process.

Some have speculated that Rice would catch on quickly with a team if he were reinstated. Some teams are definitely in need of running back help due to injuries. However, nobody has indicated that they would have interest in Rice.

Following the season-ending injury to Ahmad Bradshaw, the Indianapolis Colts quickly denied that they would have any interest in signing the embattled former Raven.
