Caroline Lijnen has finally come clean about what sparked her decision to cheat on Belgian soccer player Kevin de Bruyne. According to her, it was because he cheated on her first. Lijnen and de Bruyne were in the midst of a three-year relationship in the spring of 2013 when rumors first emerged about Lijnen having an affair.

CR7 Showing Up Teammates in Practice?

According to the Daily Mail, the story only got more interesting when it was revealed that the man Lijnen cheated on with was none other than Thibaut Courtois. De Bruyne and Courtois were teammates on the Belgian national team that reached the final eight at the FIFA World Cup this summer, and at the time of the affair, both players were owned by Chelsea, although they did not play together because Courtois was on loan to another squad.

Lijnen claims that she decided to cheat on de Bruyne as a way of evening the score after he cheated on her with her best friend in 2012. Speaking to Story Magazine, Lijnen said, "Kevin cheated on me. I did not say anything for months because I couldn't say anything, as Kevin's parents said they would take legal action if I gave my story."

Lijnen met Courtois on a trip to Madrid, where he was playing while on loan. According to Lijnen, Courtois wined and dined her and provided her with some of the things that de Bruyne had not, ultimately leading to her decision to be unfaithful.

Reports indicate that Courtois and de Bruyne have since repaired their relationship, although de Bruyne was reportedly very upset when he first learned of the incident. The two are currently playing together for Belgium as the nation goes through the qualification process for the Euro 2016 tournament.
