WWE Rumors: Update On Sheamus Not Working Survivor Series [VIDEO]

WWE Superstar Sheamus was written out of the Survivor Series main event between Team Cena and Team Authority on this week's Monday Night RAW and WWE announcer Michael Cole provided a storyline update on the "Celtic Warrior's" condition.

WWE SmackDown Spoilers For Friday Night's Final Edition Before Survivor Series

Cole noted on Tuesday's edition of Main Event, which aired on the WWE Network at the WWE's SmackDown tapings for Friday, that Sheamus suffered a stinger in his left arm, bone spurring, narrowing of his spinal canal and pressure on his neck.

Cole also teased an update on Sheamus' status and return on next week's editions of RAW and SmackDown.

Sheamus fell victim to Mark Henry's World's Strongest Slam through a table after The Authority pit the former United States Champion against The Big Show as a storyline way of putting cracks in the foundation of Team Cena. Sheamus then did not appear at the end of RAW during the brawl between the two squads.

It was then revealed that Ryback and Erick Rowan officially joined captain John Cena, Dolph Ziggler and The Big Show on Team Cena while Sheamus wasn't part of the segment as he was selling his injuries.

Those five Superstars will go head-to-head with Team Authority, which is captained by Seth Rollins and also consists of Corporate Kane, United States Champion Rusev, new Intercontinental Champion Luke Harper and Henry.

The two sides will go head-to-head Sunday in a traditional Survivor Series elimination tag team match where if Team Authority loses, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are stripped of their power while if Team Cena is defeated, all five members are fired.

It was an interesting move by the WWE since Sheamus is a popular Superstar and was in the midst of a feud with Team Authority's Rusev, who just won the U.S. title from him earlier this month.

There have been no reports of Sheamus suffering a legitimate injury, and it's unknown if the "Celtic Warrior" will be involved at all in Sunday's show, but it is likely he will sell the injuries.

WWE.com posted the following update earlier this week on Sheamus:

"WWE.com can confirm that former U.S. Champion Sheamus was taken to a local medical facility in Virginia following his match with Big Show on Raw," the site wrote. "The extent of The Celtic Warrior's injury is undetermined, but it has been confirmed he will not be able to compete at Survivor Series this Sunday."

The stakes are high when Team Authority and Team Cena go head-to-head live Sunday night from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis at the 28th annual Survivor Series.
